UNICEF: One child displaced every minute in Haiti as armed violence persists

2 July 2024 ¡ª The number of internally displaced children in Haiti has increased by an estimated 60 per cent since March ¨C the equivalent of one child every minute ¨C a result of ongoing violence caused by armed groups. According to latest estimates, almost 600,000 people ¨C over half of whom are children ¨C are now internally displaced in Haiti and in urgent need of humanitarian assistance.

Every minute.

Every minute in Haiti, a child is displaced because of armed violence.

That means increased risk of exploitation, separation from family and exposure to diseases.

The violence must end. NOW.
