CTED conducts follow-up assessment visit to Armenia

The Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED), acting on behalf of the Counter-Terrorism Committee, conducted a visit to the Republic of Armenia from 11 to 13 July 2018. This was in follow-up to the Committee’s initial visit of September 2007, with the assessment focusing on progress made by Armenia in implementing the Committee’s 2007 visit recommendations, as well as measures introduced to implement Security Council resolutions 1624 (2005), 2178 (2014), 2396 (2017), and other relevant Council resolutions.

CTED conducts focused visit to Denmark

Acting on behalf of the Counter-Terrorism Committee, its Executive Directorate (CTED) conducted a follow-up visit to Denmark from 29 May to 1 June 2018. The aim of the visit was to discuss Denmark’s progress in implementing Security Council resolutions 1373 (2001), 1624 (2005), as well as 2178 (2014) on stemming the flow of foreign terrorist fighters (FTFs), and identifying good practices and areas in which Denmark may be in a position to provide technical assistance to other Member States.

CTED and UNOCT return to Iraq to follow up on recent high-level visit

In a follow-up to their recent joint high-level consultations in Iraq, the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) and the Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED) conducted a joint mission to Baghdad in early May 2018, with the support of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI).

Baghdad and New York, 8 March 2018 – Mr. Vladimir Voronkov, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT), and Ms. Michèle Coninsx, Assistant Secretary-General and Executive Director of the Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED), yesterday concluded a two-day visit to Iraq at the invitation of the Government and with the support of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI).

CTED conducts focused visit to Switzerland

Acting on behalf of the Counter-Terrorism Committee, its Executive Directorate (CTED) conducted a three-day focused visit to Switzerland from 27 February to 1 March 2018.

The aim of the visit was to discuss Switzerland’s progress in implementing Security Council resolutions 1373 (2001) and 1624 (2005), and Council resolution 2178 (2014), on stemming the flow of foreign terrorist fighters (FTFs).
